The internet is a wonderful thing. Not only does it allow me to keep friends and family halfway across the country up to date on the growing boys, but it gives me a way to make friends with moms going through the same stages I am (or ones who have been through it already). I'm in several groups online but there is one that is a definite lifeline to me.
Over 2 years ago now a group of us on the Weight Watchers Moms message board started posting together. We were all pregnant and due to give birth in either September or October of 2007. Now that our kiddos are all approaching the age of 2, the group is a little smaller but our bonds are that much tighter now.
We're spread out all over the country (although oddly enough one of the moms does live here in the Kansas City area too!) and a few times people have been lucky enough to meet each other. Each time there's a meet up, the rest of us wallow in jealousy. Now it is my turn to brag!
Yesterday Brenda flew in from California. No, she didn't come just to visit us KC girls, she came for business but that didn't stop us from getting together with her last night!
I can't wait until I can meet more of my online friends! Even though we are only chatting on message boards, yahoo groups and instant messenger I feel like I've really formed strong bonds and friendships with these women. They're my lifeline when my life gets crazy!

Wallow, wallow, wallow :(
I had so much fun, and I love meeting all of you. I feel exactly the same way - you all are my lifeline. Great choice of words.
See, she really does only have one kid! Oh, wait, that's mine... ;)
That's awesome! I belong to a same age triplet group on Yahoo and we've been talking for 4+ years (some since their pregnancies!) and I went to Chicago two years ago to visit a bunch of them. So fun! :)
Glad you got to get together in person!

How fun! The July/Aug 2006 moms are getting together in August:) I'm so excited. I can totally relate to them being my lifeline. I love those girls!
How fun!! I really am anxious to meet some of my internet buddies but have yet to do it.
My MIL just joined WW and I've thought about doing it online.
But yes...some of these women (*** eh hmmm...present company INcluded ***) have really helped me, too.
