Multiples and More QOTW - My 5 Favorite Blogs

Today the Question of the Week over at Multiples and More is a fun one for me! We're supposed to list our 5 favorite blogs!

I'll be honest - in recent months I haven't done a very good job reading other blogs and commenting on them. I used to be great at it! I think the boys are distracting exhausting me more and more lately, so by the time nap time comes I'm beat and don't feel like exerting much brain power. I really need to get back into it though, as reading other blogs always brightens my day, gives me fun ideas and sometimes make me think.

All that being said, there are a few blogs I do check on a regular basis! One that I check every single day is Multiples and More. Seeing as they're hosting this little QOTW though, I'll leave them off the list. In no particular order...

Blog #1: Money Saving Mom - I love this blog! I've learned so much about how to work the CVS Extra Care Bucks program, how to find good deals at stores like Target and Walgreens and how to sign up for freebies (food, magazines and home cleaning supplies)!

Blog #2: The Great Umbrella Heist - I love this blog about identical triplet girls. The conversations those girls have crack me up! Oh and Sarah's photography inspires me to keep improving and trying new things with my own camera!

Blog #3: The Meanest Mom - This mom of 4 kids (including a set of twin boys) always keeps me laughing! Last weekend though she made me think. She made me think for 3 days! I don't think a blog post has ever made me think that long. Here's a link to the post that made me think so much....

Blog #4: Briseno Family Adventures - My friend Brenda is from California. I met her on a Weight Watchers message board back when we were both pregnant with our "first". That was 3 years ago almost! We finally met this summer when Brenda's work travels brought her to Kansas City and I'll see her again in March when she and several other women from our board will travel to Kansas City for a big meet up! I love Brenda's stories about her son and I love her Scrapbook Saturdays posts! Always a fun place to get new ideas.

Blog #5: Cake Wrecks - Whenever I am having a bad day and just want to cry (or eat), I log onto Cake Wrecks. I could scroll through her posts for a solid hour I'm sure. The writing keeps me laughing and the stupidity of the cake "wreckerators" cracks me up!

Disclaimer - if you didn't make my list, don't get down. I probably do read your blog! You seriously should see the list of blogs that I "follow". It's a lot. I'll try to get better at commenting so that you know I'm checking you out (in a very un-stalker like way of course). :)

Blog for a Cure Blog Party

Three questions:

Do you want to gain new followers for your blog?

Do you want to help eradicate cancer?

Can you spare $1.00?

If so, then read on.

On Monday, Sept 28- Friday, Oct 2, 2009, Who Knew? Reviews will be hosting the first Annual Blog For A Cure, which is a new way to use social media to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while making new connections and broadening our social media network.
Blood cancers are an aggressive and stealthy enemy. They can and will strike people of all ages, health status, ethnicity, and sex unless we rally together and support the research that is needed to treat and prevent them. I have organized this campaign in honor of a dear family member and fellow young mom who has recently been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and is now fighting for her life. I am sure that each and every one of us can say we know someone who has been affected by these devastating, indiscriminate diseases. Together, we can use our most accessible resource, the internet, to help fight the battle.

It’s pretty simple:

  •  Head over to Who Knew? Reviews, and click on the button to donate $1.00 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If you can donate more, please do so, but the minimum to participate is $1.00.This will earn you one entry into each giveaway that you comment on. If you would like more entries for a particular item, each extra dollar will earn an additional entry.

  • Then, sign in to Mr. Linky which will be active on the blog at midnight, Sept. 25th. Cruise the list of other participants, visiting a minimum of 5 blogs.

  • Click “follow” when you get to those blogs. For each new blog follower that you get, return the “follow”. Feel free to visit and follow each and every other participant that signs in to Mr. Linky- think how many new followers you will receive!

  • Feel free to check back all week long to meet new bloggers, and gain new followers!

  • Today, post something about the Blog For A Cure Blog Party on your own blog, including the link: www.whoknewreviews.blogspot.com. Feel free to copy and paste this text, and encourage all of your blog readers to do the same.

  • If you do not care to gain followers for your blog, you can still will prizes by donating a dollar, and commenting on the prize posts that you want to win.

  • If you do not want to donate, you can still help by blogging, tweeting, and posting on Facebook about this event, to help us spread the word and raise as much money as possible. Just imagine what a difference we could all make, if we all just donated ONE dollar. Just think about it.

And of course, there will be prizes!

Every hour throughout the day on September 28th, I will post a new giveaway on Who Knew? Reviews. Winners will receive prizes from Kolcraft, StephieMc Designs, La Plates, Orglamix mineral makeup, Krizzy Designs, and Boojiboo as well as a few other prizes TBA. There will also be a prize for the person who refers the most participants. When you get to the main link-up post, leave a comment on the with the name of the blogger who told you about the blog party. The blogger who refers the most participants will receive a special, personalized gift from Stephie Mc Designs.

Grab the button below to start spreading the word about this event! Let’s do something- together- to make a difference.

Jackson's Embarrassing Picture

Before I dive into today's post, I want to thank those you that left such kind comments on my post last Thursday. It's so wonderful to know we aren't the only family making sacrifices and it was even more wonderful to read so many words of encouragement - especially from people I don't even "know" beyond the blogging world. Thank you, thank you!

We had a busy weekend of fun, chaos and screaming. More about the chaos and screaming in future posts I'm sure... The most fun though was taking the boys' 2 year old pictures! Tomorrow I'll highlight those.

About an hour before heading out to take those 2 year pictures though I snapped these beauties of Jackson wearing a dress and carrying a purse. Can we say blackmail?

Ok, so technically that isn't a dress he's wearing... It's actually a romper we found in the closet and he wanted to wear but wouldn't let Nick snap closed. Nick and I were dying of laughter though at the site he made with his "dress", socks pulled way up and his new sneakers.

We now have our blackmail picture for Jackson and we already have one of Tyler from earlier this month. What embarrassing thing can we catch Chase doing or wearing?

For those of you who can't get enough stories about the boys, today Nick put up a rare blog post on his blog and it's mostly about the boys! You can check that out here.

March for Babies Wrap Up

A big welcome to those of you visiting from Multiples and More! I'm so excited to be the featured blogger today!

This past Sunday was the Kansas City March for Babies. Last year I marched alone with the boys, but this year I recruited a few people to march with me! Team Three Cuties raised $1,040 collectively and I raised $760 of that. Thank you, thank you to all of you who helped us reach our goal! Here are some pictures from the event.

Jackson in red, Tyler in blue and Chase in brown

These 3 work for the Royals. My friend Stephanie told me she recognized them as the "kids" who shoot t-shirts into the crowd during games. They wanted their picture taken with the boys.

An Inside Look

There's a new blog/group on the web called Multiples and More. I've become a fan of their featured bloggers, product reviews and fun contests.

Today an interview that was done with a 24 year old triplet girl and I thought it was wonderful! I think all moms of multiples should read this and if you're just curious what things could be like for me then check it out too.

What's It Really Like To Be a Triplet?
