Fun Times

The boys had a ball this past week, hanging out with Grandma and Pop Pop. We did all kinds of fun things (some of which I didn't take any pictures of *gasp!*) including a trip to the zoo and playing at the park...

Chase and Jackson. Such a shame my focus was on the dragon and not them! Darn! And yes, Chase is wearing his shirt backwards. Again. He's always so proud of himself for getting himself dressed that he hates it when I try to help him or "fix" whatever he did wrong.

In baby news, I'm now 10 weeks along and so ready to be out of the first trimester. The fatigue is killing me! My nausea had gotten better in the last week until some icky heat and humidity rolled in yesterday. Now I feel gross again if I spend too much time outside. 

More Than I Could Chew

This mom bit off more than she could chew this week. Live and learn, right? Yesterday this blog was silent due to my seriously long to-do list. In fact, as I blog right now I'm sitting at my garage sale, waiting for people to come buy our stuff. Sadly, this is not as glamorous as I'd hoped it would be. Instead of sitting outside getting some sun and sipping a Diet Coke, I'm sitting in warm clothes, drinking a mocha and thinking about how cold I am. Brrrrr!

Trouble and Fun

I tell you what, I cannot take my eyes off these boys! It feels like every time I turn my back someone is coloring on the floor, biting a brother, being rough with a book, throwing toys or unraveling a roll of toilet paper.

Ahhh, there's the pantless culprit, Jackson. Of course his brothers thoroughly enjoyed playing in the mess when Jackson streaked through the kitchen dragging most of a roll of TP behind him.

Thankfully, the boys also know how to just play together and have a good time. Check out this awesome slide we found at a playground. Isn't it just perfect for triplets?!

Monkeys and Ice Cream

Where do my children get all their energy from? Seriously! Wouldn't it stand to reason that because their bodies are about 1/4 of mine that they should have a smaller reserve of energy? I know I'll be 29 in a couple of days, but come on. I should be able to keep up a little bit better! Maybe they somehow transfer energy from me to them... hmmmmm...

Anyway, they put on quite the display at a park last week. Lots of running, jumping and climbing. Perhaps I should just stick with the "monkeys" nickname after all.

We're having a ball with the grandparents visiting! Monday night we took a picnic lunch to the park, where Tyler had lots of fun (and thrills) on the tire swing.

Weekend Tidbits

Nothing massively exciting happened here over the weekend (we'll attempt fireworks next year), so I thought I'd just give you a quick run down of things we did or were said this weekend....

* Nick nicely pointed out to me after I told someone the boys would be 2 in August that I can now just say "They'll be 2 next month". AHHHHHH! How did that happen?!

* We took the boys yesterday to what is likely our favorite new park - too bad it's a 15 minute drive to it.

* On the way home from the above park Chase threw an epic tantrum (he was mad Nick wouldn't let him just lay in the parking lot) and dragged Jackson into it by hitting and scratching him. About half way home (and half-way through the tantrum) Nick turned to me and said "I bet you're glad I'm witnessing this aren't you?" I told him I was sad Jackson had to be dragged into it, but yes I was glad he was there to referee while I drove and that he was witnessing it. I also told him to imagine dealing with that alone in the car. Maybe I can talk him into a van sooner than I thought....

* A nursery worker at church gushed to us for about 10 minutes about how nice, well-behaved and good looking our boys are and how we'll have trouble with the girls in about 14 years. Nick and I already know all those things, but it's nice to hear from a stranger :)

* Jackson threw his own epic tantrum in Home Depot. I'm sure most of the store heard him. The problem? He was jealous of the car cart Chase was driving (even though it was exactly the same as his and Tyler's car). When Jackson dragged Ty into the tantrum (by biting him) Tyler got moved into Chase's car and Nick decided to just carry Jackson. As I was walking away with Ty and Chase a Home Depot employee asked me how I keep them so quiet. I laughed and said they aren't all quiet... didn't you hear the screaming and crying 2 minutes ago?

* I noticed this weekend that sometimes when Jackson says "truck" it sounds more like the f word. Awesome. I think from now on we'll just call all vehicles "cars"!

Bee Sides

Today in honor of Big Boy Week we're going to talk about bee sides. What? You don't understand toddler talk for "big slides"? Shame on you! Start spending more time with toddlers :)

The boys have a ball and are really good about staying away from any places they could fall through and they get such a thrill out of the "bee sides"!
