Mother's Day Fun

I had an enjoyable Mother's Day with my boys yesterday! Nick of course had to work, so I only saw him for a couple of hours in the afternoon and then later at night. However, our friends were in town with their 17 month old son so we decided to go out for some fun!

The Kansas City Zoo was nice enough to offer free admission to all mom's yesterday. Considering small kids (2 and under I think?) are free this made for a super cheap outing! We packed a picnic lunch for the boys and loaded up the cars and headed to the zoo to join the thousands of other people who had the same idea.

The boys had a great time looking at the animals and announcing what each animal "says" which, for the record, is "roar!". Yes, even elephants "roar". I think a little too much fun was had though as about half-way through Africa I heard some exclaim as I walked by that "number 2 was falling asleep". I turned around to see Tyler bobbing his head around, trying to fall asleep sitting up in the Choo Choo.

He was successful in sleeping that way for about 30 minutes, which then meant when we got home about an hour later he wouldn't nap. Oh well. Chase also found a way to dose in the Choo Choo. His position resulted in a lot less bobbing than Tyler's did.

And finally, this is the gift I got my awesome mom! When all the cousins were together last week I snapped this beauty of all 6 kids, printed an 8x10 of it, stuck it in a frame and mailed it to my mom. How we managed to get all 6 kids looking straight ahead is beyond me!

TP Trouble

The monkeys are getting taller. I guess they get it from their dad. Over the last few months Nick and I have had to push stuff on the counter farther and farther back. If one of us is cooking on the stove and the boys are up, we use only the back burners. The reach of the monkeys is far too long now!

Last week, after flying through 3 boxes of tissues in a week we moved on to a roll of toilet paper. I thought I had it pushed back far enough, but apparently not...

For those who have been asking, Jackson is doing great now! He started to perk up late last weekend and is acting completely like himself. Suddenly though in the last 24 hours Tyler's nose has started to run again. Who knows where this germ came from because we haven't been out and Nick and I lysoled all their toys just 3 days ago. Hopefully it's a fluke!

Re: the poll about the new background - 63 of you voted and 69% of you can see the monkeys just fine. I'm going to stick with them for now until I can find something just as cute that all of you can see!

Video Clip of the Week - Fun with Vick's

While the boys were sick last week (and the week before that) we put Vick's Baby Rub on their chests to help combat the runny noses and coughing. Every time Nick or I would rub it on them, the boys would giggle hysterically! I just knew I needed that on video, so Monday night I filmed while Nick lathered them up.

The order of appearance is Chase, Tyler and then Jackson.

Hope you all like the new background! When I saw it yesterday I knew I just had to have it considering we refer to the boys as "the monkeys". When I switched things around though I lost a bunch of my "widgets" including my March for Babies button. I've gotten most back, but can't get the March for Babies button to work right now.
