I Love My Kids

Yesterday afternoon, at about 3:30pm, Tyler wandered out of his bedroom. He'd just woken up from his nap. Instead of sleepily wandering down the hall to say hello to me, he stood in the doorway to his room and broke into song. The tune of choice? I Like To Move It, Move It.

I tried to stifle the giggles as I looked down the hall to see what would happen next. After he ran through the chorus once, he dropped his blanket at the door and walked out to the living room. I stood in the kitchen and watched him dance around the room singing the chorus over and over. Eventually he stopped and came over to say hi to me.

I love my kids. Period.

Boom Chaka Laka - Video Clip of the Week

The boys love to dance. We've seen it before, but it never gets old for me! One of their favorite things to do (besides playing the dancing game on Wii) is to listen to music on the computer and dance to that. On this particular day we were listening to music from Phil Joel's website and the song of choice was Boom-Chaka-Laka! The boys learned some fun moves to this song in Sunday School and they love to sing along too. If you listen closely, you can even hear them trying to sing/say "Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faith and self-control" - quite a mouthful for two and a half year olds!

Chase is wearing red, Tyler in stripes and that's Jackson popping in at the very last second.

Boy, oh boy do these little guys like to dance! I think they inherited the desire from their Aunt Laura (who both teaches and is in a dance company), because Nick and I aren't big on dancing.

Video Clip of the Week - Head, Knees & Toes

Technically the name of the song is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes but the boys routinely leave out the shoulders when frantically trying to smack body parts.

Let me back up a bit though.... for Christmas the boys received a Baby Einstein Sing and Play music CD. It's full of fun children's songs, some of which I'd never even heard before but have apparently been around forever. The first song on the CD is Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and the boys have decided it's their favorite. Seriously. When we walk into their room in the morning to get them, they all jump up and start alternating between smacking their heads and pointing at the CD player. Same things happen after nap time. No joke, I must hear the song 25 times a day. Thanks Aunt Melissa and Uncle Craig! (Insert appropriate sarcasm here.)
