Now What Was I Doing?

I'm suffering from a common ailment among moms. I thought this was something just new moms dealt with (and considering my boys are 2.5 now I don't think I can call myself a "new mom" anymore). I'm suffering from Momnesia. A couple of years ago I remember reading a USA Today article about Momnesia and thinking "yes! That's what I have!". If you want to read the article, you can use this link to get there, but basically Momnesia is the mental fuzziness that sets in after giving birth.

I was kind of really hoping that Momnesia would be but a distant memory (snicker) by now, but sadly I still can't remember squat. I'll go back to my bedroom to get something and by the time I walk the 20 feet to get there I can't remember what I was after. Or I'll open up a new Firefox window so that I can look something up and then not remember what I was going to search. Or my personal favorite today, I can't remember what I was going to blog about!

Now what was it I was supposed to be doing right now?

Why, showing us new pictures of those boys, of course!!

I get that too, and my youngest is almost 8, so I'm not sure how much hope that gives you, sorry. ;)

My first child (Helen) was born more than 28 years ago and I am still suffering from Momnesia. No, it is not Alzheimer's yet, though it might be Teachnesia.... What were we talking about?

Ahh yes. I keep telling my husband that the babes are eating my brain. That is what makes them grow strong in the womb and now through nursing... brain cells.

So true. It's only because we set out with a purpose like writing a blog, and our children (or husbands) distract us with a whine, cry, "help me find", or question. We deal with the issue at hand, when we see an item that needs to be put away. We put said item away, and notice some laundry on the floor... which prompts us to start the laundry. Once the laundry is started we hear the phone ring....

Now what were we supposed to be doing in the first place?

I am NOT a mommy so, I have a mind like a steel trap. Or maybe a drain trap.....

They say it's only supposed to last a year...but I'd say it's a year per kid! And should be longer than a year after the first one!
