Chase Update

Yesterday morning Chase and I braved the frigid cold to head to the doctor's office. Chase was excited for the adventure out of the house and as soon as we got the office he bolted for the reading room. I followed him and just stood in the doorway to watch him. In the room is a small picnic table and a small plastic chair. This is how he utilized both of those items....

Goofy kid! At least he was comfy. The scene cracked the nurse and me up.

The doctor looked at the hernia and referred us to a doctor at Children's Mercy. We have a consult appointment with him next month and that's when we'll schedule surgery. I've been told it's a relatively simple surgery, lasts about an hour and he'll go home the same day. He will be put under general anesthesia which is always a little nerve wracking. I'll let you know when we have a surgery date scheduled. Thanks for the prayers! Thankfully Chase doesn't seem bothered by the hernia right now.

I'm sure it is a very simple surgery - but ANY surgery when it is on YOUR child is a big deal!! Will they be able to do it laproscopically?

Let me know what I can do - we've got plenty of boy toys if you want to bring the other two over on surgery day!

So glad he is not bothered by it! And I'm sure all will go well.

Anna had hernia surgery a little over a year ago. Yes, surgery is not a big deal and yes, putting your child under is scary. I'm glad it isn't bothering him.
