Saturday Savings

Final reminder to enter my TWO giveaways this week! Click HERE to enter the Easy Potty Training Guide giveaway and HERE to enter the Blog-Make Over Giveaway! Contest closes at 9pm CST tomorrow!

This week presented some nice grocery deals, especially if you've been smart enough to buy two newspapers a few times in the last couple of months! Double the coupons makes for double the savings and stock-up opportunities! Look at what $73.90 bought me yesterday....

Hy-Vee Mandarin Oranges - 4 cans

C&H Sugar - 4 pounds
Roberts Sour Cream
Eggland Large Eggs - 2 dozen
Eggland Cage Free Eggs - 2 dozen
Red Grapes - 2 pounds
Bartlett Pears - 3.23 pounds
Large Seedless Watermelon

The Deals: Like I said in the intro, because I've bought double newspapers a couple of times in the last 2 months my savings were double the fun! At Hy-Vee I was able to snag the Keebler Cracker multipacks for just .85 each (68% off), the Cinnabon bars were .39 each (thanks to some internet coupons) which is 85% off, the Hefty bags were .99 each (61% off) and the mandarin orange cups were .50 each (61% off). An even sweeter deal involved the Quick Oats and the Granola Bars! Hy-Vee offered a $3 off coupon if you bought 5 participating Quaker products and I happened to have double the Quaker coupons because I bought 2 papers last week. The 4 Quick Oats canisters and the 2 boxes of granola bars only came to $3.67 total - that's a 78% savings! Hy-Vee also has their 10 pound bags of chicken leg quarters on sale for $3.99 a bag (55% off). Oh and did I mention I snagged another free bottle of Diet Coke this week? Thank you MyCokeRewards!

Hen House also had a few nice deals this week if you had double the coupons, especially considering they double coupons up to .50! I picked up 2 dozen Eggland's Cage Free Eggs for only .99 each and 2 dozen regular Eggland's eggs for .79 each. The C&H Powdered Sugar was .80 and the C&H sugar was .99. The Robert's Sour Cream was only .30!

I feel like overall I did pretty well, especially considering some birthday party items snuck their way into my grocery budget (chips, bottled water, sour cream just to name a few). If I can cook up one of those bags of chicken legs I may even swing by Hy-Vee one more time this weekend to buy another bag.

Total Spent Before Coupons, Sales and Tax: $138.94

Total Spent After Sales and Coupons:  $67.72 - 52% off

I read your blog since your interview at Multiples and More and I think this is maybe my third comment. I like to read your blog and love Saturday Savings. I wish to live in USA to have coupons for our savings. But for now, I like to see yours.

Have a nice weekend.

PS: I have a giveaway on my blog if you are interested.
