Favorite Reading Spot

The fellas have a new favorite reading spot. Sometimes they like for me to read the book to them and sometimes they just want to do it themselves...

Top to Bottom: Jackson, Ty, Chase

Yep. We've started potty training! A couple of days ago I bought a toilet trainer (because who wants to empty a potty chair three times more than average?) and started putting the boys on it a few times a day. We're following the very basic plan found in Potty Training Your Baby and are taking things slowly. The boys each take a turn on the "potty" 4-5 times a day and only sit there for 2-3 minutes at a time. Last night, just before bedtime we finally had someone actually do something on that toilet! I'm proud to say Jackson peed in the potty.

I'll be spending a lot of time in the bathroom over the next 4-6 months I bet, but that just gives me more time to dream about all the things we could do with that $100 a month diaper money.

Thank you to those of you who have voted in my redesign/monkey poll. So far 80% of you can see the monkeys so unless that number drops significantly I'll be keeping the design as is.

Wow! Good job. I'm not quite ready to take the plunge with Emma, but then you have 3 times the diapers I do! They are so adorable on the toilet--those pictures will be great for their high school graduation! ;-)

Hee Hee...cute, but be careful what you start! We started V on the potty with a low-key 'sit and oh, wow! books!' approach, and now she just asks for the potty when what she really wants is for someone to read to her.

BTW, if you go to trainers (like pull-ups or w/e), I hear they are mad expensive, and somewhere on parent hacks I read that someone used regular panty liners in underwear for training to save $$$. Probably not helpful for number 2 though, so gotta watch out for that!

Good luck! I bet you can't wait to be saving that diaper $$.

Way to go Momma. I did potty training the same way, back in the nanny days, it worked out great. Good luck.

I love the first picture of Jackson, he looks so serious. We have working woth my son on the potty training. I think it's going pretty good but we still have a long road ahead of us. We love the baby bjorn potty but I may have to get the potty trainer because he's more interested in using the big potty. I love the pictures. I've got to get a picture of my son on the potty. These pictures will be great to show their future wives one day...maybe. Hahahehe.

How adorable!! Good luck with the potty training!!

Yeah, we had the potty chair for, oh, probably a week when I made them start getting on the toilet! Isaac had trouble reaching but we got a stool and fixed that - sooooo much better than emptying that nasty chair!

I will tell you taht they boys still wear Pull-Ups at night and we spend all of $30 or so every SIX WEEKS on them - how wonderful!! :)

Take care,
Kara

Oh those are cute pictures! Good for you doing PT-ing! I'm SO dreading it. Thought I do think that Sam would get it pretty fast if I worked hard with him.... maybe you'll inspire me!
